Need of the hour
You all know what is crippling Tamilnadu in general and Chennai in particular for the past few months or years. YES it is scarcity of water. Foreseeing this problem our former Chief Minister Late Dr. J Jayalalitha made RAIN WATER HARVESING compulsory in Tamilnadu and our State is the first in India to start implementing Rain Water Harvesting. She identified the power of voice of school children to create awareness about the scheme, RAIN WATER SCHEME.
Keeping this in mind PATRONUS, an academy for Life Skills (functioning from C 91 Crescent Road, Thiruvengada Nagar, Ambattur, Chennai 600053) catering to the diverse needs of School Children in developing Attitude and Aptitude Skills, had organized a RALLY on this hot issue on Sunday the 20th October 2019. Braving the incessant rain that day and forgetting Sunday rest, scores of students of PATRONUS (with some of their parents and well wishers) were going through the streets of Thiruvengada Nagar and Krishnapuram appealing to the Residents of the area and the general public with numerous Placards and Slogans. They interacted with the public to understand how rain water harvesting is done in their residents. It was an eye opener for the students, while they interacted with one of the villagers who explained how rain water is being preserved through the process of desilting in villages. We hope our appeal, a small and humble contribution to the community creates some awareness in the minds of people at large.
