Dr Sheela Ragavan, started her career as a teacher of French in June 1994, after
completing her M.A in Psychology and French. Though she entered this profession by
chance and not choice, she cherished every moment of being a Teacher for 10 years –
Thanks to connect she was able to establish with her students and the major role they
played in helping her learn the nuances of teaching through constant feedbacks.
Immediately thereafter, she got the opportunity to be the Vice Principal Academics; during
this period, she activity got involved in areas like syllabus gradation, curriculum
preparation leading to holistic development, text book preparation and micro level lesson
planning.
Along with work she ensured she was in touch with the latest trends in education. She
visited various schools in Dubai and Canada, completed her M.Ed., Post Graduate
Diploma in Educational Leadership from CEMD, Delhi and International Diploma for
teachers and Trainers from Cambridge University.
In 2009, she took charge as the Principal in TI Matriculation HSS and in 2015 completed
her doctorate in psychology.
Apart from teaching, she enjoys interacting with people from various walks of life.
Psychology being her subject, she used it to regularly address students, teachers and
parents on issues related to Stress, Self-esteem, Behavior, Parenting Methods etc.
She was conferred with the ‘Best Teacher Award’ by the Thiruvallur district in 2011.
Recipient of “The most inspirational teacher” award in 2000.
Presently she is a trainer and lead assessor on request for Quality Council of India (New
Delhi), she visit schools to train teams in the process of Accreditation and also assess them
to check the system.
She is a member of the technical committee of the NABET wing QCI and also supports the
Meghe group of schools as a School advisory committee member.
Apart from that she is actively involved in conducting behavioral training for leadership
teams, teacher empowerment programs, sessions on creativity and innovation in class
rooms, coaching and mentoring etc.
She firmly believes in the concept of ‘learning to learn’, as each day teaches us something
very new and positive.
